Montaspre Serveis Ambientals, S.L. is a material processing centre. In it, waste from construction and demolition are recovered. Two work centres are managed by the company: the CDW controlled landfill, located in San Julià de Ramis (region of Girona), as well as the transfer plant of Pont de Suert (region of Alta Ribagorza).

Controlled landfill of Sant Julià de Ramis

Its purpose is to select and crunch materials from construction demolitions to transform them in recycled aggregate.

The first part of the process consists in physically separate the products that can be recovered from those that cannot. This way, the amount of material sent to the landfill is reduced, and the reuse and facilitates the recovery of most part of the material.

Recoverable stone products are subject to a specific separation, crunching and screening treatment to obtain high quality aggregate, which will become raw material again for other applications.

Transfer plant of Pont de Suert

The plant receives and selects the different debris that access their facilities, which later undergo a classification process and are correctly managed by Montaspre Serveis Ambientals, S.L.

Description of products and services

At the end of the material recovery process, we obtain two types of products:

   - Recycled concrete aggregate: comes from recycling demolished concrete structures or from surplus concrete in concrete plants. The physical characteristics of this aggregate are the ones transferred by the concrete it comes from. Therefore, it has a very homogeneous texture, it has a grey shade, and responds to a high strength. When the processes ends, we can find it in different granule sizes: Sand (0-4mm), Gravel (4-10mm o 4-20mm), materials over 40mm.

   - Ceramic material aggregate: it mainly comes from the collection of debris in general, brick remains, paving stones, etc. where we can find material of different nature from ceramics, concrete, porcelain, gypsum, glass, etc. When the treatment process ends, we can find it in different granule sizes: Sand (0-4 mm), Gravel (4-10 mm o 4-20 mm), materials over 40 mm.
