128m3 of concrete (more than 500m2 of surface) were supplied Proaccess-10 for the execution of the slab track inside the Sants station (Barcelona).
The Proaccess-10 (30Mpa resistance) was supplied on a night shift and pumped into the station more than 180m away. Proaccess is an ideal product for this type of need since thanks to its fluid formulation and type of aggregates we can offer high resistance with pumped and fast-running products.

For this construction, Promsa has supplied 2 types of reinforced concrete: HA25B20IIIa and HA25B20IIa with a total of 2,000m3.
The supply was made from the Cabrera de Mar plant.
The work consists of the structural reform of two houses, expansion and parking lot.
It is located in the Urbanization of Supermaresme, in Sant Andreu de Llavaneres.
The products supplied were HA25B20IIa concrete as well as self-compacting HA30L20IIa and C12 for pavements with a total of more than 400m3.

The work for DIBA (Diputació de Barcelona) consists of a series of improvements to the ditches of various roads in the Osona region.

The plant is located in the municipality of Alcarràs, Lleida, and is supplied from the Soses plant.
Industrial complex consisting of 3 warehouses, one for pharmaceutical use and the other two as logistics centers.
The work consisted of a supply of about 6,000 m3 for foundations, piles, walls and attics.
The warehouses are located in Lliçà d’Amunt, in the Mango industrial estate. The work was supplied from the Promsa plant in La Garriga.
One of the companies of frozen products, refrigeration services and freezing tunnels, located in Vic (province of Barcelona), has increased its capacity to freeze by expanding its current chambers.
These are 3 -80º freezing tunnels of about 236m2 (two 77m2 and another of 82m2) and a 112m2 pre-chamber.
Engineering opted for PROXTREM, Promsa's pumpable concrete specific for very low temperature conditions and subject to freeze-thaw cycles. In addition, the floors were applied without joints, thanks to the use of structural polymeric fibers, with a thickness of 16cm.
The work was carried out in the Osona region (Barcelona province) from the Promsa plant located in Les Masies de Voltregà, near Vic.
For this industrial warehouse located in the municipality of Massanes, a supply of 11,000m3 of concrete has been carried out in different areas, mainly foundations (about 5,000m3) and slabs (other 5,000m3).
For the pillars, a liquid consistency concrete HA25 has been supplied for balls type CPI8 25m deep.
The concrete was supplied from the Hostalric plant.
The specific product developed by Promsa for these applications, PROXTREM, was used to pave the 6 freezing chambers for the meat-food industry.
The 6 chambers, of about 68m2 each, are at an average of -80ºC, so the pavement must withstand very cold temperatures, as well as continuous freeze-thaw cycles.
That is why Promsa PROXTREM concrete is ideal for this application, with a special formulation for these extreme conditions without cracking and providing the necessary resistance to withstand freeze-thaw cycles. In addition, being located in an area of difficult access, it was pumped through pipes, since the Proxtrem can also be pumped.
A pavement application has been carried out in 2 different areas for the meat-food industry.
One for a passageway where it communicates between several freezing chambers and one the second zone; a floor of a prepared area. Both are at cold temperature.
The PROLIMIT product was applied, with a total volume of about 148m3 supplied, by pumping through pipelines, since they were in areas of difficult access. The Prolimit can also be pumped.
Prolimit was chosen for this application, since being located in an area of difficult access, the mesh was saved using structural polymeric fibers. Furthermore, being a product exposed to cold areas, the fibers are not affected, being a much more reliable and durable product than conventional reinforced concrete.
For the accesses to the industrial area in Olost (Olost, Barcelona), 34m3 of a HM200 concrete colored in brown FORMIRAPID® color has been applied.
For these sidewalks, this color was chosen since first compact sauló aggregates were going to be used, but it was ruled out since having downspouts there could be erosion. It was chosen to color the concrete, for a greater landscape integration with the aggregates of the area.
For the execution of two multi-family buildings of 42 flats, the construction of approximately 3413 m3 of concrete HA25 / B / 20 / 2A was built on a surface area of forgings of 7785 m2.
The buildings are located on the Sabadell road with the Sant Jordi Rubí street, with 4 floors.
The structure of this multi-family building located on the Dosrius road, No. 38, Cardedeu has been carried out.
The building has 3 floors above ground, one of them sloping and the other below ground. There are a total of 26 houses, 2 premises and parking.
Approximately 1,629 m3 of HA25 / B / 12 / 2A concrete will be used over an area of approximately 4769 m2.
For the pavement of these 3 freezing chambers of -45º and 75m2 each, the PROXTREM was chosen, the concrete of Promsa specific for conditions of very low temperature and subjected to ice-thaw cycles.
All the pavement with a thickness of 15-20cm was made without joints due to the use of structural polymer fibers.
The work was carried out in the region of Osona (province of Barcelona) from the Promsa plant located in Les Masies de Voltregà, near Vic.
For the pavement of these 4 cold rooms, PROXTREM, Promsa concrete, was used for pavements subjected to very low temperature conditions and with ice-thaw cycles.
The work consisted of a new freezing chamber of -24ºC of 150m2 and the construction of another 3 new chambers of -80º of 75m2 each and without joints due to the use of structural polymer fibers.
Subsequently, an Epoxy paint finish was made suitable for agri-food regulations.

150m2 of sidewalks have been made in the town of Vilallonga de Ter (Ripollés region, Girona).
23m3 of concrete of two types were supplied: concrete with common scraped aggregate and concrete with deactivated boulder aggregate.
To the deactivated concrete, polypropylene fibers were added to facilitate the gripping of the aggregate and thus avoid peeling off in the deactivated phase.
The concrete was supplied from the Promsa plant in Sant Pau de Segúries.
The work consists of three buildings that house 99 homes that are located in one of the areas of greatest interest for construction in Lleida, the Parc del Aigua.
The work began in December 2018 and the most important supplies were made during 2019, taking the largest batch of concrete HA-25 / B / 20 / IIA with a total of 9,200m3.
This work has been the most important that has been executed in Lleida related to the construction of houses.
For the repair of the pavement of a cold room dedicated to the preparation and distribution of frozen meat batches, the PROXTREM product has been used. This concrete has been specifically designed by PROMSA for these pavement applications subjected to low temperatures.
The room consists of about 140m2, where the land was conditioned with "Cavitis" and isolation with XPS.
The floor was applied by pump and subsequently the PROXTREM was applied, without joints due to the use of structural polymer fibers and colored red (by customer's decision). The finish was fine.
The work was carried out in the region of Osona (province of Barcelona) from the Promsa plant located in Les Masies de Voltregà, near Vic.
3 slabs were made for this multi-family building located in Quart (Girona).
250m3 of HA25 concrete was supplied by soft consistency slab with fluid finish (with a total of 3 slabs).
All the concrete was pumped by the Promsa pumping service.
For the repair of the pavements of these 2 freezing tunnels of -45º, PROXTREM was used, the specific concrete of PROMSA especially for pavements subjected to very low temperature conditions and with ice-thaw cycles.
The 2 tunnels with an area of 75m2 each, the existing pavement was sanitized since it had cracked enough. Once sanitized, the PROXTREM floor covering with a thickness of about 15-20cm and without joints was applied by pump due to the use of structural polymer fibers.
In that case and by the client's decision, PROXTREM was colored red with a fine finish (according to the floor of the meat cutting plant).
For the pavement of this industrial building, a fluid HA25 has been chosen, having double reinforcement, the fluid consistency is the most suitable for its difficulty of vibration.
In total 10,000m3, 7,000m3 on exterior pavement and 3,000m3 inside pavement.
The work consists of industrial buildings for the collection and dispatch of salts from their extraction in mines.
To the work is added the complexity of being a structure very close to the sea in addition to the type of material collected with high chloride content.
For the structure: concretes have been supplied with the corresponding environments plus conventional assembly (increasing the regrowth in the assembly).
For the interior and exterior pavements, the use of structural polymer fiber structural concrete has been chosen (thus avoiding the possible impact of chlorides on the corrugated reinforcement).
In total, some 29,000m3 will be supplied, with completion forecast in March / April 2020.
The work of the Mediterranean corridor on the Castellbisbal-Martorell section provides for the execution of 3 different tunnels with a 2-year construction forecast that begins in 2019.
In a first phase, the Costablanca tunnel, more than 1,000m3 of gunite has been supplied. Another phase is planned for the Martorell Tunnel by spring 2020.
The gunite supplied with a workability margin of 3 hours (with retarder), with different dosages according to specifications (425, 450 and 475 kg cement) plus fibers.
Among the 3 tunnels are planned about 10,000 m3 of gunite, in addition to 55,000 m3 of other concrete typologies.
For the execution of this multi-family building of C / Calassanç Duran in Sabadell, around 13,000m3 of concrete were supplied between slabs, screens and structure.
The work rises to fit from the production center located in Terrassa.
For the construction of the Terrassa Plaça commercial park (Avinguda Vallés nº490, Terrassa), more than 24,000m3 of concrete were supplied, supplied from the production center located in the same town, Terrassa.
The center with more than 34,000m2 includes parking and commercial premises.
For the construction of this 7-storey multi-family building on Urgell Street in Vilanova i la Geltrú, a lightened floor (Forli system) was used.

This July 2019 we have intervened in the Port Aventura park in the new attraction of “Street Mission”.
Foundations and pavements with a total of 800m3 of concrete have been executed.
During the works the services of the park have not been interrupted.
This summer of 2019, the construction of a new dock has been carried out in the Port of Vilanova.
For this work it has had 5,000m3 of pumped concrete, among them more than 3,800m3 have been of flexo-traction concrete for pavements.
The works will end this 2019.
Para esta zona ajardinada peatonal de la reformada plaça de Las Glòries se eligió el uso de Aripaq, 5.573m2 de este pavimento de textura natural.
El pavimento consiste en un camino interior rodeado de césped y zona ajardinada alrededor de la plaza.
El Aripaq mantiene una integración paisajística gracias a su tono natural (sauló) y gracias a su composición con calcín de vidrio reciclado, hace que no necesite mantenimiento, y sobre de él puedan circular maquinaria ligera de mantenimiento sin que se creen deterioros.
Para este Edificio plurifamiliar de 10 viviendas se utilizó en obra aproximadamente 500m3 de hormigón HA25/B/20/2A en una superficie de 1259,10m2.
Debido a su ubicación en zona urbana de Sitges, su ejecución fue más compleja debido al difícil acceso de camiones a la obra.
Se utilizaron casetones de canto de 30cm con la función de aligerar su estructura.
La estructura está compuesta por plantas sobre rasante y una bajo rasante.
Ubicación: C/Madriguera 28, Sitges.
Para la ejecución de esta estructura de este Edificio plurifamiliar se utilizó aproximadamente 800m3 de hormigón HA25/B/20/2A en una superficie aproximada de 1600m2.
La cimentación fue con zapatas aisladas y muros de contención.
La estructura está dividida en 3 plantas, 1 bajo rasante.
Ubicación: C/Salvador Robert Rabentons 3, Sitges.
Para la ampliación de esta residencia dentro del complejo del hospital de la Garriga, se realizó la construcción de una estructura de 4 plantas sobre rasante y 1 planta bajo rasante.
Se aplicó aproximadamente 7000m3 de hormigón HA25 en una superficie de 1400m2.
Ubicación: C/La Doma 18, La Garriga.
Para la construcción de estas 6 viviendas adosadas en hilera, se utilizará en obra aproximadamente 600m3 de hormigón HA25 en una superficie aproximada de 1300m2.
Para esta obra se realizó un muro de contención. La cimentación fue con zapatas aisladas y continuas.
Ubicación: C/Ball De Bastons 2, Vilanova i la Geltrú.
Para la rehabilitación de este parking exterior de camiones se eligió el producto HRR.
El HRR es un hormigón especialmente para pavimentos de rápida actuación debido a su rápido fraguado.
La obra consistió en una actuación de reparación de 500m2 de vial de 15cm con armado. Las características requerían una rápida puesta en servicio, en este caso se pudo restaurar el vial en menos de 48h.

To make the pavements of this parking lot located in Roda de Ter (Barcelona) PROACCESS-10 was chosen.
To reach the pouring point, a 95m linear pipeline was laid.
The PROACCESS chosen in this case was an HA25 without additives or fibers.
Para la rehabilitación del hotel Torre Catalunya se usó el mortero autonivelante PROSILENCE MIX.
Se eligió el PROSILENCE MIX para esta obra por sus complicaciones de bombeo, ya que la zona de actuación era la planta 23. Además de esta dificultad, se le añadía el no interferir en las actividades del hotel durante la rehabilitación.
Este producto al ser autonivelante, es de fácil aplicación (se ejecutó en 2 días), al llevar plástico reciclado en composición hace que sea más aislante acústico que otros morteros convencionales.
Este producto se amasa en obra, en este caso se usó una bomba eléctrica que se subió con un montacargas, así como 12 palets de sacos PROSILENCE MIX.

Producto: PROSILENCE MIX, 228m2 con una media de 5cm de grueso.
Within all the types of concrete that we offer, concrete with color are the ones with the greatest esthetical value.
These concretes are "coloured in mass" (adding the colouring additive to the mixture made in concrete plant) and are used for applications of exposed concrete, whether pavements or structures seen.
On this occasion in the town of Roda de Ter, a pavement with black tones was chosen.
In Campdevànol, different types of orange tones were chosen for a parking of an environmental center.
From the concrete plant of Igualada, sprayed concrete has been supplied with the gunite technique, for the waterproofing of slopes.
With a total of 281m3 of gunite with an average production of 30m3/day. The gunite supplied is fluid constitution in addition to incorporating fibers.
The work corresponds to waterproofing layer of a landfill for the storage of potentially dangerous substances.
Promsa faced in 2017 the challenge to supply the new logistics platform of Amazon in El Prat de Llobregat.
The foundation of the slab took several months of supply, the largest (in dimensions and volume) Promsa has ever supplied: 32,000 m3 at a daily rhythm of 500 m3 served from the concrete plants in Zona Franca and Pallejà.
The Pavements phase, 50,000 m2 of screed on the foundation slab with controlled retraction concrete and finishes of high planimetry.
150,000 m2 of compression layer on the Precon alveolar pre-slabs (company of the Ciments Molins group), a concrete with lesser planimetry requirement, but with the handicap of thickness (7/10 cm).
For the urbanisation phase (Sanitation, services, accesses and parking platforms for trucks) we supplied over 7,000 m3 of Flexotraction Concrete.
Finally, in the office area we supplied 2,000 m2 of self-levelling mortar.
In December 2017, this exterior pavement was made for truck parking inside Promsa in Pallejà (Barcelona).
The pavement was made with PROLIMIT, without reinforcement or joints (the pavement was 16x15m without any cuts). This type of concrete that contains polymeric fibers that give the concrete residual strength without the need to use reinforced or double reinforced.
For this case, a non-smooth finish was chosen, since as it was a parking area, adherence was sought for the vehicles.
In October 2015 Promsa began the product supply works for the construction of the Shuttle that will bridge the city of Barcelona with the T1 and T2 of the El Prat-Airport.
For this project, an on-site plant was built inside the facilities of the Shuttle to supply concrete and mortar.
18,000 m3 of fresh mortar with filler to be injected in the tunnel borer.
100,000 m3 of concrete for screens (concrete with dosage of 375 kg of SR cement) and slabs (HA30 SR).
The works are expected to end in September 2018 pending the supply of around 55,000 m3.
For the paving work at Estació del Nord, in February 2018, cellular concrete was chosen for the over-parking area.
The function of the cellular concrete is that of filling, lightening the whole structure and not loading it with overweights.
For the final layer, HA25 pumped concrete was applied.
The work is approximately 1,600m2.
This pavement of a large area for commercial equipment has been divided into 2 phases:
- 1st Phase: A first layer of HA25 with a roughly 10cm thick armor.
- 2nd Phase: A leveling layer made with self-leveling mortar C-12 of about 5cm.
For both phases, pumping equipment applied by the PROMSA Flooring team has been used.
The works were carried out in March 2018 with a concrete surface of 1,120m2.
PROMSA ÁRIDOS supplies since July 2017 the UTE ACCIONA COPCISA all-in-one-core and jetties, necessary for the expansion of the Muelle adosado and the construction of a new multi-purpose terminal for the mooring of vessels in the Port of Barcelona, the volume we expect to supply is 420,000 t in 5 months.
The extension of the Muelle adosado is being done by dredging the sludge of the seabed at a 30 m depth and to replace it by pouring All-in-one-core and jetties, by split barge, a vessel that transport 1000 t per trip, creating a foundation to dock on them big prefabricated concrete crates that measure 40x20x20 m and weigh 6,000 t, with which a barrier is created reclaiming land from the sea and building a large surface for the new mooring terminal.
To transport the material from the quarry to the port we have recruited a fleet of over 150 trucks which has represented a great challenge to carry out daily supplies of 7,000 t.
Liquefied natural gas tanks are an infrastructure with high technical requirements not only in the execution of their constructions, but also regarding the materials used to do so. To build these two gas tank sets in Barcelona and Gijón, we installed 2 on-site plants for exclusive supply. The works also included a gasification plant (in Gijón).
The concrete manufactured and supplied was mainly cryogenic concrete, since due to the characteristics of the tank, the requirements were highly-resistant concrete and with the capacity to resists frost and thaw cycles.
The concrete of the walls was executed in several stages using the procedure called “trepa”.
The quality control of the concrete has been essential, since PROMSA chose to install a mobile quality laboratory on site to offer a thorough control.
In the Plaza Lloreda located in Badalona (Barcelona) our pavements teams has applied a concrete pavement with iron oxide.
This concrete is permanently coloured giving it a much warmer shade that adapts to its surroundings.
In the Alguaire Airport, located in Lleida, pavements with high flexural strength were installed.
The formulation of this concrete provides high shock, durability and wear resistance. PROMSA supplied the concrete from its Soses plant.
The facade of Viladecans’ funeral parlour, in the province of Barcelona, was built in 2016 with architectonic concrete and self-compacting concrete.
This type of concrete has a fluid and self-compacting consistency, which makes it adapt to any kind of formwork, regardless of its complexity.
All the facade was done continuously in 3 different stages. Before the concreting, we held meetings with those responsible for the works, with the Project Management, and also with the formwork team to correctly plan the concreting and carry out a pre-test to analyse the behaviour and possible improvements.
The pavement of part of the Can Solei and Can Arnús Parks in Badalona has been applied with Aripaq.
It has been carried out in several stages due to its large tract of land.
Aripaq is an ideal product for parks because it guarantees no maintenance and it gives the pavement natural features and integration with its surroundings.
Aripaq pavement has been applied to the area surrounding the Outlet Style Market of Viladecans.
Aripaq is very suitable for pedestrian areas surrounding shopping centres, due to is high durability, little maintenance and integration with its surroundings.
Aripaq provides high landscape integration as while containing a percentage of recycled raw material, thus being environmentally-friendly.
For this application, since it is a very elevated surface, the material was supplied using a concrete dumper and it was applied on site with a spreading machine.
Aripaq was applied on the paths located around the de Castell d’Hostalric.
Aripaq gives the pavement a natural texture, with a high level of landscape integration, as well as keeping unchanged since this pavement does not require maintenance. It also prevents puddles from forming on the surface during the rainy season, and it does not allow weed to grow on undesired places, thus making the necessary maintenance after application almost non-existent.
To renovate the school Betània, located in Pedralbes, Barcelona, the construction company relied on Promsa for the supply of the main materials. The products supplied are:
The outdoor pavements of this house had a modern architectonic design with simple and elegant lines were manufactured with printed concrete.
The type of printed concrete chosen was the traditional style cobblestone on a dark grey shade, that emphasises the colour contrast.
The restaurant has a large outdoor area that requires a resistant pavement with a modern look.
They chose to apply a printed concrete pavement simulating wood. For a more natural look, we added on the concrete a touch of brown colour, obtaining a pavement that imitates wood, lasting, easy to clean and with no maintenance.
In homes, single or multi-family, self-levelling mortar is a very useful material, since it gives a high degree of levelling to the pavement, even with radiant heating, making it perfectly compatible and providing a high work performance.
In this occasion, for the single-family home, the self-levelling mortar was selected to level the slab and provide higher insulation. The final finish of the indoor pavement was selected by the Project Management.
Uniform concrete thanks to its consistency, it adapts perfectly to the shape of the formworks, which are quickly removed after its application.
Usually they are shifted or continuous formworks, like in the case of the new jersey protections that we see in many roads.
For the new Terminal T1 of the El Prat-Airport in Barcelona, Promsa supplied different products in different stages of the work.
One of the supply stages consisted in the delivery of concrete for all the structure of the parking of the T1. For this specific job, and due to the large demand of concrete, Promsa installed a plant on site.
Another product supplied was concrete with a base of white cement for the interior pillars of the terminal, which are exposed.
The project consisted in the renovation of the Masia Vil·la Joana, located in Collserola. The house where Jacint Verdaguer lived at the beginning of the 20th century and which today is used as a museum and is part of the Museu d’Història de Barcelona.
Due to the change in purpose it was necessary to reinforce the structure using HALF concrete: a self-compacting fiber light weight concrete, because it can be pumped and it is also resistant, which makes it easy, fast and safe to apply. Some areas of the structure were particularly damaged and it was necessary to rebuild the “volta Catalana”.
In some cases it was decided to put a metallic structure, using then HALF (self-compacting light concrete).
PROMSA’S structures division made the stands of the football field of the Almeda.
This singular job consisted in foundation, walls and support beams for the stands, which in this case were prefabricated.
The renovation of the Mercat de Sant Antoni in Barcelona is incredibly complex and implies restoring a modernist building whilst adding four underground levels.
The construction process was initiated by supporting the building on a large slab of post-tensioning concrete of around 13,000 m2 and 1.20 m thick, together with the construction of a slurry foundation wall around the entire perimeter of the building, 38 m deep and 1 m wide, that have allowed the construction process of the underground levels using a descending system.
Commissioned by the UTE Nou Mercat de Sant Antoni, conformed by the companies Sacyr, Scrinser and Copcisa, Promsa has prepared the concrete to build this large post-tensioning slab.
The concrete requirements for the terminal of the port TERCAT, are very demanding, both regarding resistance and levelling.
Promsa has installed an on-site plant to supply the necessary concrete for the specialised companies to shape the pavements of this big private infrastructure.

Promsa’s Structures division carried out the construction of a circular wall inside the GRP (Granulated Rubber Project) facilities. This concrete structural wall is to retain the granulated material.
This circular wall is a structural element of great complexity due to its height and thickness.
Promsa’s structures division has built a concrete structure for a multi-family home in Avinguda Tibidabo 40, in Barcelona.
The structure of 850 m2 of waffle slabs and 2 slabs of concrete, corresponding to 2 parking levels.
It has also build the retaining walls for the two basement floors and a complex ground floor 5 m high.
Promsa’s structures division has built with traditional formwork the multi-family 4-floors building with parking, in the city of Sitges.
Since it is a building located in front of the sea coast, the foundation slab requires to be waterproofed because it is below the water table.
With a surface of slabs built of 2,000 m2 and a concrete volume of 1,050 m3.
The multi-family building located in Calle Joan Maragall, 7 in Sitges, has been built by Promsa’s structures division.
Over 2,400 m2 of formworks have been built to rise a 4-floor building and parking.
All the retaining walls around the perimeter of the building were done with formwork checkers on 1 side. The concrete supplied to build the structure came for the plant Promsa has in the city of Cubelles.
Promsa’s structures department has participated in the extension of the factory of a well-known beer brand located in the Baix Llobregat.
Particularly, the construction of a foundation slab of 700 m3 to support the 40 cm-wide circular walls to support the silos.
For this project, we also used Promsa’s concrete pump.

This is a very complex job due to the access difficulty.
The concreting was done by pumping.
Promsa’s structures team built this retaining wall in Granollers.
The structure consisted in building spread footings and a retaining wall of over 6 m high with 2-sides formworks and prepared to support pillars with the Peikko system.

For the waffle slabs we used formwork with a temporary coffers system.
Slab: 300 m2.

Promsa’s structures team built the structure of this 2-floor single-family home and parking in Sant Just.
Apart from the structure, the house had concrete pergolas made in situ.

Promsa’s structures team built the structure of this warehouse for which it build foundations, deposits and retaining walls.
The structure had isolated footings for the support of prefabricated pillars with Peikko and Cáliz systems.
The deposits were waterproofed and a loading dock was also built.

In 2008, Promsa installed in La Sagrera an on-site plant to supply the products for the new station of La Sagrera.
Since them, this concrete plant has manufactured the necessary products for wells, piles, screen walls, ballastless track, mortar for the tunnel (applied with tunnel borer), etc.
This plant continues being active and it has produced over 450,000 m3 of concrete and mortar.
In 2008 Promsa installed in Sarrià de Ter (Girona) an on-site plant to supply the products for the construction of the AVE section between Girona-Border with France.
These works included the construction of 2 tunnels.
The products supplied were mainly shotcrete (gunite) as well as structural concrete.
In 2007 Promsa installed in Cornellà de Terri (Girona) an on-site plant to supply the products for the construction of the AVE section between Girona-Border with France.
These works included the construction of 2 tunnels and a viaduct.
The products supplied were mainly shotcrete, mass and structural concrete.
Different Promsa products were used for the construction of the Grimaldi terminal.
Concrete was used for the structure of the offices, foundations and pavements.
Flexotraction concrete was also supplied to build pavements that had to support more weight and required high resistance.
In August 2012, Promsa installed 2 on-site plants to supply the necessary concrete to the construction of the East Dike between Barcelona and El Prat.
Over 200,000 m3 of concrete were produced for concrete dice of around 50T each.
In January 2012, Promsa installed an on-site plant to supply the necessary products for the works of Mango’s logistic complex located in Lliçà d’Amunt (Barcelona).
These works included: urbanisation (drains, gutters, etc.), screen walls, foundations, structure of the logistics warehouse, etc.
A large amount of pumping and the application of high planimetry pavements were also carried out.
Promsa was in charge of supplying the necessary concrete for the new Production Line 6 of Cementos Molins.
The heat exchange tower, over 120 m high, was built using a movable formwork with a continuous sliding concrete supplied in 24h turns.
It was finished in 2009, and it became one of the most efficient cement plants in Europe.
For this renovation work of the Museu del Suro, Promsa’s pavements team applied Prosilence Mix (100 m2).
The benefit of using self-levelling mortar Prosilence Mix is that it gives acoustic insulation with reduced thickness. This insulation is achieved thanks to the fact that the product has plastic of recycled origin in its formulation.
Prosilence Mix was applied in the renovation of the Hotel Suizo located in Via Layetana in Barcelona.
The work was of around 1,400 m2 divided in 3 floors.
Prosilence mix was chosen because it was not possible to increase the thickness of the pavement. This product can be used for thicknesses from 1.5 cm (prior connecting bridge).
In 2002 the construction works for the new tunnel of Vielha started for which Promsa’s shotcrete was supplied.
For this complex project an on-site concrete plant was installed for exclusive use.
Prosilence self-levelling mortar with float finish was used in this office building. This finish allows you to glue products to its surface.
Offering at the same time the benefits of Prosilence: acoustic insulation light payment without cracks.
Self-levelling Prosilence mortar was supplied to this Teyco works for the interior pavement.
Apart from the properties of the Prosilence (acoustic insulation, anti-crack, etc.), the project management decided to apply it over mesh.
The product is completely compatible with or without mesh. It can be adapted to the needs of each works.
Promsa brought its light concrete in the lightening works of Gran Via in Barcelona.
This type of concrete is done with lightweight aggregate specially designed not to provide weight to the global structure.
This concrete is supplied directly from the mixer truck.
Between 2006-2010 this project was carried out by the architects: Fermín Vázquez, Toyo Ito and B720 Arquitectos.
The works with over 80,000 m2 built is made up by 2 organic towers to be used as hotels (the hotel located in one of the towers is the second highest in Barcelona), offices and for commercial purposes.
Promsa provided its experience in the supply of structural concrete.
This section of the works of the AVE Madrid-Barcelona passing by Sant Boi de Llobregat consisted in the creation of a viaduct.
This viaduct with movable formwork was built with high-resistance concrete, HA-50, in liquid consistency.
Pile 6 was built with self-compacting concrete due to its complexity and reinforcement density. Throughout the works a thorough quality control was carried out at early stages by Promsa’s own quality team.
For the gardens of the Academia Militar it was decided to use ariblack (steel aggregate) due to the great ornamental value of this 100% recycled aggregate.
The characteristics of the ariblack remain unchanged over time, as well as its dark colour.
In 2015 and 2016 several works were developed within the facilities of Megasa.
In total, over 100 m3 of Proresist, Promsa’s high performance concrete, widely used in industrial renovations.
This concrete, manufactured with steel aggregate and calcium aluminate cement (CAC) is able to withstand a much higher range of temperatures than other concretes as well as having a much higher abrasion resistance than conventional concrete.
Due to its complexity, it is a product supplied dry and the mix is done on site.
This project was carried out in the Airport of Barcelona in 2017 and comprised different layers:
The total volume supplied was 60,000 t with a supply of rockfill (32,000 t in total) in 10 days at a daily rhythm of 3,500 t/day.
Within the external accesses to the Nestlé plant in Girona, a technical pavement with RR Concrete was done.
This type of concrete was chosen after a previous assessment since this product reaches 25 Mpa in 48 h, a requirement the property needed. This concrete has the same workability as conventional concrete.
For this type of product, due to its complexity, the quality team carried out a thorough control to guarantee the resistance.
The Ayuntamiento de Muel decided to use ariblack (steel aggregate) as foundation for asphalt pavements.
The use of this kind of aggregate enhances the properties of the asphalt making it much more resistant to abrasion.
This aggregate has 100% recycled origin and it has been approved by the PG3 (road regulations).
After a technical assessment it was decided for this project to carry out the screed with aerated concrete (over 50 m3 poured during a morning using a pump).
This kind of concrete, due to its low density and high porosity, allows the screed in places where weight is not required.
In this site, apart from aerated concrete as screed, also concrete pavements with a polished finish was supplied.
Fresh concrete with fibers was supplied to the Facilities of Codorniu to make the outdoor pavement.
This pavement covered the upper part of one of the wineries.
The use of fibers makes it possible to not use mesh in pavements and floors, as well as avoid cracks.
For the swimming pool of Salt, Girona, we supplied around 300 t of recycled aggregate as foundation for the concrete pavements.
This area is intended for the accesses to the Swimming Pool.
